Science, as a game

http://kotaku.com/5844510/gamers-discover-two-new-planets-by-playing-a-browser-game

This is an article concerning the continued development of games that accomplish science. By making data sifting into entertainment, scientists are able to exponentially increase their available resources.
This is an area I feel that designers are only starting to touch on. Work as play!

Eaux Eaux Modern Sink by Joel Roberts Dares You Not to Spill Any Water

The Eaux Eaux sink is a modern take of that bathroom washbasin we use so many times during the day. Created by Joel Roberts, and competing for the Bathroom Innovations Award, the Eaux Eaux proposes us an interesting ocean wave-like shape. The basin and the faucet are seamlessly connected and offer an impressive water flow. When looking at the basin though my first concern would be not to spill any water while performing my washing rituals. What’s certain is that you won’t be able to knock this sink out of position. The base is fixed into that countertop and the body of the Eaux Eaux is made out of stainless steel, properly painted to achieve the overall wave effect.

Rain catching/filtering outerwear

A rain jacket that filters through a carbon filter. I would love having this while backpacking! Sometimes water access is few and far between. A short rain storm would become a help instead of just a hindrance.
