  • Treforma Nesting Tables
    Function follows visual appearance.
  • Treforma is inspired by objects and the way they reflect and transmit light. The color of objects is determined by the parts of the spectrum of light that are reflected without being absorbed. Secondary attributes like glossy, sheen, and translucency are made clear by the directional distribution of the reflected or transmitted light.

Treforma is a study of diffusion and scattering; where surfaces can change in many directions, without the change in inherent nature of the components. Three tables, formed by bending tinted glass, nest together to form a single unit. Both an art piece and a functional space-saver in smaller spaces, it is the decision of the client how to use it.

Dimensions are 54x32x18"h for the large, 48x32x16"h for the medium, and 24x32x14"h for the small. Pricing and availability available upon request.

PHX Desk Organizer

A very simple, but effective, desk organizer. The aluminum base is sturdy and attractive, and the silicone helps to hold items in place. The provision for power cords is also a nice feature.

Alessi Phone

First Bang & Olufsen now Alessi. Alessi has introduced the Alessi Phone, a cordless home phone. The phone was designed by Stefano Giovannoni for Alessi and Telecom Italia. He has remained true to the sleek design language of Alessi, but where is the fun? Unlike the B&O cellphone, this phone remains beautiful and usable while remaining true to the company's design style.

Coca Cola Freestyle

I saw one of these the other day in a Five Guys, and it is one of the most interesting machines I've used in awhile. The Coca Cola Freestyle is a soda machine that was originally introduced in 2009, but is now gaining more widespread adoption. The body was design by Pininfarina, the company that has designed some of the most iconic Ferraris. You select the drink you want on the touch screen, then place your cup in the stainless steel opening and press the pour button to operate it. An interesting detail is that there are buttons on the lower part of the machine that allow handicapped users to easily use the machine. These machines use a new mixing system for soda that uses small VHS size cartridges for syrup instead of the bulky 5 gallon bags traditionally used. This allows the machine to have 110 flavors on tap instead of 6 to 8. Keep an eye out for one at your favorite restaurant; it is a very well integrated piece of design that is quickly being adopted.

Lisboa Bike

"The form and function must be together in a spiritual bond"
Frank Lloyd Wright

Lisbon is a sign for the renewal of life and higher vibrational that reflects the spirit of evolution.

Dynamism, movement, futurism and balance. With an aluminum board inspired movements of the ups and downs, its unique design stands out thanks to its shape organic and innovative. The width of the frame was thought the city use to protect the driver from wind and unexpected objects, such as stones and insects.

The wheels are inspired by the painted symbol of balance YIN YANG. According to this principle, two complementary strengths make up everything that exists, and the dynamic equilibrium between them comes all moving and changing.

The Ugliest Sandals in the World Are Actually Based on Foot Science

Look how ugly these sandals are. They look like a radioactive gummy bear pooped on a milk crate. But these Sazzi sports sandals are actually biomimeticly designed to keep your feet safe from uneven terrain, if not deeply judgmental eyes.

Barefoot running has been popular for a few years now. The five-fingered shoes you see pounding down the sidewalk really do help people stabilize themselves while they run by letting the muscles in your toes and feet do the work they were meant to do. Same goes for the Sazzi sandals, except, like, as sandals.

You probably won't be putting in a ton of roadwork with these, but they might warrant a look. Er, wear. They warrant a wear. Don't look directly at them. They'll be out in May for $80-$100. [Sazzi via The Gear Caster]

The world's first inflatable solar light...The studio was focused on designing disaster relief aid and infrastructure for post-earthquake Haiti. When thinking about what we could design to make a difference, we decided to focus on light because it had the potential to greatly improve the comfort, safety, and survival of earthquake victims.
